Valley Baptist Church respects the builders of the past
generations and looks forward to the future contributions of our Senior Adults.
We believe that the best days for Seniors are ahead. We try to involve our
Seniors in activities that are ministry related as well as fun! Here are some of
the activities and ministries available to you at Valley Baptist Church!
Anniversary Sunday
This is a time each year we recognize our seniors who have ever celebrated 50
years or longer of marriage. We provide a time of fellowship celebrating their
marriages. This is a time to set a good example before our younger teens and
young adults to show what commitment in marriage brings.
Fall Feast Banquet
This is a time of fellowship we offer in the Fall for the Seniors. We encourage
them to invite their friends to attend Valley Baptist Church in an informal
setting.
Widows Reception
This is a time we provide fellowship for our widows. We offer an opportunity to
honor Valley Baptist’s widows in a public way during our evening worship time.
Valley Voyagers RV Camping Club
They meet once a month for potluck, planning and fellowship. The 2nd Monday of
the month they go camping, Monday through Wednesday.

Equippers - Hal Eggleston

This class attempts to give its members the necessary knowledge for “head”
and “heart” and strengthens their Christian walk. |

This class is for all ages. We study the characters of the Bible such as
David and Moses, etc. |

Friendly women’s class where the members care for one another. |
Joy (Just Older Youth) – 55 & Over Ministry
Purpose of Ministry:
JOY is a vigorous, enthusiastic group that maintains a
positive attitude, concentrating on the blessings in life. We minister to the
Senior Adults at Valley, and reach out to those who need to know Christ and to
be part of a fellowship.
Program of Ministry:
Fellowship Luncheons and Sunday Night Socials give Senior Adults time to
socialize together. We also visit rest homes and give our Senior Adults the joy
of ministering to others in need and sharing the Gospel. Keeping in touch with
phone calls, notes, and letters is a ministry of encouragement. The Valley
Voyagers take monthly 3-day camping trips. We take day trips to places such as
the Roy Rogers and Gene Autry Museums, Knott’s Berry Farm, etc. All of these
activities keep this group vigorous and enthusiastic.
Opportunities to Serve:
To serve in this ministry, one must have a genuine love for this age group! The
opportunities are limitless and include visitation to rest homes and homes of
shut-ins, phone calls, writing notes of encouragement, as well as serving on
planning in the above events.
