What to Expect

Infants

We recognize a certain amount of anxiety comes with leaving your infant for the first time. The volunteers in our infant classes love infants and desire to serve and meet the needs of your little one(s). We hope the following information will help you and your baby have a great experience on Sunday morning:

Please bring bottles, diapers, pacifiers and any special blankets that will soothe your baby throughout the morning.

Please label all your child’s belongings, including pacifiers.

The Preschool Department is located on the first floor of the Children’s Building. Please visit the receptionist station in the lobby. This is where your child will be entered into our database and assigned an age-appropriate classroom. You will receive a nametag, Check-in Slip for classroom staff, and a pick up tag to check out your child.

Please be sure that all items that belong to your child are labeled.

Once babies begin walking, they are promoted to a one year old class.

Ones

This is a fun and active stage when motor, cognitive, language and social skills are emerging. All the activities are age appropriate with plenty of flexibility for the normal needs of toddlers. The staff works hard to demonstrate the love of God as well as beginning to teach the children that:

God made me special
God loves me
Jesus wants to be my friend forever

If your child is are potty training, please communicate that to the teachers and bring an extra change of labeled clothing.

Please be sure to mention known allergies or health concerns to classroom staff.

We provide Saltines, Goldfish, Ritz, or Graham crackers for snacks in the classroom. If your child cannot eat what we provide, please inform the teachers and bring appropriate snacks for them.

Do not bring toys from home, as it is very difficult to keep up with them and it causes unnecessary stress for the kids when they are asked to share with other children or are lost.

Classroom promotions take place after your child’s birthday. At that time please make the receptionist aware that a classroom change needs to be made.

2's to Kindergarten

We are committed to partnering with our parents in laying a spiritual foundation making each child aware of God’s love. Our Sunday School sessions are designed to help preschoolers learn Biblical truths that apply to life situations. These truths are taught with Bible stories and simple age- appropriate activities for fun learning.
