Valley Baptist Church bases its purposes on two verses of scripture in the New Testament. These verses are known as the great commission (Matt. 28:19-20) and the great commandment (Matt. 22:37-40).

From these verses, we derive the six purposes of the Church listed below.

We celebrate God's presence as we worship the Lord through singing and hearing the word of God proclaimed.

Every army has a great cause. As part of the army of the Lord, our great cause is evangelism or outreach. We are endeavoring to share the good news of the gospel with everyone in our city.

As believers, we should all continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We desire to help others grow in their commitment to Christ through Bible teaching and discipleship classes.

We feel that it is not only important to believe but to also belong. We want all of our members to be involved in becoming a community of believers that not only love God but also enjoy one another's fellowship and are engaged in edifying or in building up one another in the faith.

We desire that members care for one another by ministering to each other's physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Our sixth purpose is stated as the corporation. This has to do with the oversight of the ministry of the Church and the allocation of resources to meet various areas of need within the church and the community.

In this website, you will see the purposes of our Church highlighted through the various ministries of Valley Baptist Church. We hope that you will also see how we can minister to you and how you might be led by God to become part of the wonderful spiritual family called Valley Baptist Church.
