Valley Baptist Cares
We all need a little help sometimes. Whether you're in need of help or in a place where you can offer help, we want to connect you with each other.
We all need a little help sometimes. Whether you're in need of help or in a place where you can offer help, we want to connect you with each other.
We are a church that prays, believing that prayer is the power source behind everything that happens in our ministry.
We encourage you to pray for our nation, church, and ministries throughout the year. Below is a link to our annual Prayer Guide created for the January 2025 Night of Prayer event, with specific praises and prayer needs that you can lift up. Click below to download a copy!
We all need a hand sometimes, and Valley Baptist is here to help. Our goal is to make sure that no one goes hungry.
All distributions run from 10:00-11:30 AM. We recommend arriving before 9:00 AM to line up.
Food offered is on a first come, first served basis. We have a set number of food boxes available at each distribution and hand out numbered tickets that correspond to them. Those arriving after all of the numbers for that day are handed out will be referred to 2-1-1 for other food resources.
Upcoming Food Distributions
All food is distributed on our Olive Drive Campus located at 5500 Olive Drive.
Our next food distributions are scheduled for:
Tuesday, November 4
Monday, November 10
Saturday, November 22
Distributions may change or be cancelled if they fall on a holiday week. If you're signed up to receive notifications from the Food Pantry, you'll get reminders whenever we're having a distribution or if the schedule has changed. If you don’t get these notifications, to sign up you can either click the button below or text the word FOOD to 88988.
This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
For additional community resources, call 2-1-1.
If you have an urgent food need, please contact our Food Pantry team at 661-387-6306.

Monetary Donations
If you’d like to support our Food Pantry through a financial gift, your donation will go directly toward purchasing food supplies for families in need. Every contribution, big or small, helps us keep our shelves stocked and our community cared for.
Our Care Ministry is made possible through the generosity of our church family who give to our pantry and community outreach and also through the general offering.
Another simple way you can make an even greater impact is to check with your employer to see if they match donations to non-profits. Many companies, such as Chevron, CRC, Starbucks, and Macy’s, use a platform called Benevity to match gifts dollar for dollar.
When you give through your company, the matching portion helps support our Benevolence Ministry, allowing us to feed and care for even more families in Bakersfield.
Your giving makes a difference, and in some cases, it can even double it.

If you have lost a loved one or are struggling after a divorce, we have GriefShare and DivorceCare groups that meet throughout the year where you can connect with others who can relate to what you’re going through. Each session is self-contained, so you don’t have to attend in sequence, and can join at any time the groups are meeting. We encourage you to begin participating in the program as soon as you are ready - you’ll be welcomed and will find helpful information, encouragement, and fellowship.
Each group meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 PM. The only cost is $25 for a workbook, but scholarships are available.
GriefShare: September 10-December 10 (no meeting November 26), Worship Center, rooms W15 & W13
DivorceCare: September 10-December 10 (no meeting November 26), Worship Center, room W14
Registration for these groups is available on the Events page of the website!
