Valley Baptist Cares

We all need a little help sometimes. Whether you're in need of help or in a place where you can offer help, we want to connect you with each other.

PRAYER MINISTRY

We are a church that prays, believing that prayer is the power source behind everything that happens in our ministry.

We encourage you to pray for our nation, church, and ministries throughout the year. Below is a link to our annual Prayer Guide created for the January 2025 Night of Prayer event, with specific praises and prayer needs that you can lift up. Click below to download a copy!

FOOD PANTRY

We all need a hand sometimes, and Valley Baptist is here to help. Our goal is to make sure that no one goes hungry.

Food Box Distribution Schedule

Tuesdays, ONCE a month (week varies)

2nd Monday of the month

4th Saturday of the month

  • All distributions run from 10:00-11:30 AM. We recommend arriving before 9:00 AM to line up.

  • Food offered is on a first come, first served basis. We have a set number of food boxes available at each distribution and hand out numbered tickets that correspond to them. Those arriving after all of the numbers for that day are handed out will be referred to 2-1-1 for other food resources.

  • If you are picking up food, we kindly ask—if you’re able—to bring your own box, bag, or reusable carrier to help transport items home. Your support in any form truly makes a difference.

Upcoming Food Distributions

All food is distributed on our Olive Drive Campus located at 5500 Olive Drive.

Our next food distributions are scheduled for:

  • Saturday, March 28

  • Tuesday, April 7

  • Monday, April 13

Distributions may change or be cancelled if they fall on a holiday week. If you're signed up to receive notifications from the Food Pantry, you'll get reminders whenever we're having a distribution or if the schedule has changed. If you don’t get these notifications, to sign up you can either click the button below or text the word FOOD to 88988.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

For additional community resources, call 2-1-1.

If you have an urgent food need, please contact our Food Pantry team at 661-387-6306.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

If you would like to DONATE food items, please click HERE for a list of items we can accept. Please do not donate items that are expired or require refrigeration. Thank you for helping us share God’s love by meeting basic food needs for the people in our community!

current ITEMS OF THE MONTH for donation are:

One item we consistently need is sturdy plastic bags to safely package food for families.

  • Pancake Mix (2lb boxes)

  • Syrup (12oz - 24oz bottles)

Please collect all of the items listed before dropping off!
* No refrigerated or expired items, please *
Food can be dropped off on Sunday mornings, at Wednesday night services, or at the church office during the week.

Monetary Donations
If you’d like to support our Food Pantry through a financial gift, your donation will go directly toward purchasing food supplies for families in need. Every contribution, big or small, helps us keep our shelves stocked and our community cared for.

Our Care Ministry is made possible through the generosity of our church family who give to our pantry and community outreach and also through the general offering.

Another simple way you can make an even greater impact is to check with your employer to see if they match donations to non-profits. Many companies, such as Chevron, CRC, Starbucks, and Macy’s, use a platform called Benevity to match gifts dollar for dollar.

When you give through your company, the matching portion helps support our Benevolence Ministry, allowing us to feed and care for even more families in Bakersfield.

Your giving makes a difference, and in some cases, it can even double it.
